150 Flights Cancelled: India’s largest airline, IndiGo, is facing severe operational disruptions, resulting in the cancellation of a large number of flights across major airports including Delhi, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. This issue has continued for the third straight day, significantly impacting passengers nationwide.
According to reports, more than 200 flights were cancelled on Tuesday and Wednesday, and the situation remained critical on Thursday as well. Thousands of travellers have been left stranded, forcing many to reschedule or cancel their plans.
Over 170 IndiGo Flights Cancelled Across India Today
Sources indicate that over 170 flights have been cancelled across the country today (Thursday), although no detailed official confirmation has been provided yet by IndiGo.
- More than 30 flights departing from Delhi Airport were cancelled
- Around 33 flights cancelled in Hyderabad
- Several cancellations reported at Mumbai Airport as well
IndiGo currently operates more than 2,200 flights daily, making this disruption one of the most significant in recent months.
Reason Behind Mass Cancellations
In an official statement, IndiGo apologized to passengers and explained that its operations have been affected by multiple factors, including:
- Technical problems
- Winter-related schedule changes
- Bad weather in several regions
- Increased airspace congestion
- Flight duty time limitations for crew members
The airline said it has implemented minor schedule adjustments to prevent further disruptions. These measures will remain effective for 48 hours to help stabilize operations and improve punctuality.
IndiGo Issues Apology
IndiGo expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and assured passengers that efforts are underway to restore normal flight operations as soon as possible. The airline urged passengers to check flight status before leaving for the airport.
