Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has appealed to companies, business owners, hotels, contractors, builders, and shopkeepers across the state to give three days of paid leave to workers from Bihar so they can travel home and vote in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
Appeal Ahead of Bihar Assembly Elections 2025
In an official letter dated November 3, Shivakumar said that a large number of people from Bihar are working in Bengaluru and other parts of Karnataka. Since voting is scheduled for November 6 and 11, 2025, he urged employers to support their employees by allowing them leave to participate in the election process.
“I request all companies and business establishments to provide at least three days of paid leave to voters from Bihar to facilitate their participation in the elections,” he stated, adding that such support would ensure better voter participation.
Political Appeal to Bihari Community
Earlier, DK Shivakumar had directly appealed to Biharis living in Bengaluru to vote for the Mahagathbandhan in the Bihar Assembly elections. He encouraged them to support Tejashwi Yadav as Chief Minister and Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister.
Praises Bihar Workers and Promises Welfare Schemes
Shivakumar praised the Bihari community for being hardworking and dedicated. He said the Congress-led alliance aims to bring development to Bihar across multiple sectors.
He also assured that if the Congress and Mahagathbandhan form the government in Bihar, they would introduce welfare and guarantee schemes similar to those already implemented in Karnataka.
